In making this website, I have created visual identity and digital assets for Jooce, a healthy juicy-soda brand. I was fully responsible for the copywriting (that sells!), web design and it was built on Hatch by me (previously playful software).

The visual identity uses bright, bold colours to express the unique, active, playful, loudly uniqueness of Jooce.

Before designing this site, I knew it was important to research what are the key ingredient to make a effective website that aims to sell. I found that, before a product become desirable, we need to clearly communicate to the audience:

  1. What is the product.

  2. Why do they need this product (why does has to be this brand?)

  3. What other people think about the product (social proof and community).

And this was the framework/template I've came up with, to help building effective product launch/info page. It looks like this:

How to sell products using websites - A Template.

  1. Landing

    • Heading: Short, simple message about the product. This is also the hook. So add a little surprise factor.

    • Subhead: slightly longer explaination to assist understanding.

    • CTA: Tell you user to continue explore. Or purchase. Do something.

  2. Section 1 — Show (not tell) people why they NEED the product.

    • Be concrete.

    • Keep your sentences short and easy to understand.

    • Use visuals and interactions to help user visually understand.

  3. Section 2 — if you got variations to your offer, show it.

    • Offering variations appeals to the human need of gathering.

    • But don't give them too many options (will cause fatigue).

  4. Section 3 — Give your audience more proof that they NEED your product.

    • eg. is it a limited offer? Or perhaps there's a free sample?

  5. Section 4 — Social proof and Community.

    • Show your credibility via testimonial here.

    • or a gallery — show images or videos of happy people using your product.

  6. Contact and Final CTA.

  7. Footer with links

And of course, in very section, give the customer a chance (a button) to buy/other action you'd like. Never let your customer to spend too much energy to search for a buy button.

And when paired up with engaging visuals, you'd feel confident this website will go a long way boost your sales.
